"Alex K. Dewar, 62 years old, 11206 So. Laflin St., Chicago, who was associated with his son, Chas. A. Dewar, alderman of the sixth ward in a plumbing business at his son's home, 434 - 121st St., died at his home Thursday. Mr Dewar had been ill with pneumonia for nine days.
He was a native of Scotland, but had been in Chicago approximately 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Jessie Dewar and one other son besides Charles, Alex K. Dewar, Jr., of Chicago. John Dewar of Chicago is a brother.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:30 o'clock, at the residence with the Rev Arthur D Klontz, pastor of the Morgan Park M.E. church officiating. Interment took place at Mt Greenwood cemetery."

"Mrs Jessie (nee Hendry) Dewar, 81, mother of Charles A Dewar, superintendent of streets, city of Blue Island and commander, American Legion Post No. 50 Blue Island, died early yesterday, suddenly, at the residence of her son, with whom she lived at 2123 W 123rd st.
Mrs Dewar was a native of Edinburgh Scotland. Her husband, Alex, preceeded her in death 17 years ago and she had resided here since 1939.
Mr Dewar is the only surviving child, while William Hendry, of Chicago, is the sole surviving brother. There are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services are planned for 3 p.m., from the funeral home at 13050 Greenwood Ave., with Rev Emil Helm, pastor of the Community Evangelical church officiating. Burial will be at Mt Greenwood cemetery at the side of her late husband.

DEWAR - Jessie Dewar nee Hendrie, late of 2123 W. 121 street, Blue Island, Ill., wife of the late Alex, mother of Charles and the late Alex Jr. and Neita, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Funeral Friday, May 3, 3 p. m., at chapel, Vermont and Greenwood avenue. Blue Island. Interment Mount Greenwood."
