A WELL-KNOWN resident of Brisbane, named Mr. Donald Dallas, died very suddenly on Dec. 16. About 2 o'clock in the morning he was taken ill, and medical aid was immediately sent for. Before it arrived, however, Mr. Dallas was dead. The deceased last resided in Fortitudo Valley, but he used to keep a saddler's shop in Albert-street. It will be remembered that a brother of the deceased died equally suddenly at South Brisbane some time ago. -

"Obituary. MR. HECTOR DALLAS, aged eighty-three years, a resident of Goulburn for the past fifty-three years, died at his son's residence, Goldsmith-street, at nine o'clock this morning from general break-up of the system. He had been confined to his bed for nearly twelve months, during which time he suffered greatly. He was a boot closer by trade, but had been unable to work for some considerable time. Mr. Dallas was born in Woolwich, England, and was married about sixty years ago, his wife having been dead twenty-one years. He leaves five sons and two daughters, the latter being Mrs. R. Horan of Goulburn and Mrs. Smith of Forbes. The funeral will take place at three p.m. to-morrow."

Mr. Hector Dallas, a resident of Goulburn for the past 63 years, died on Wednesday morning at his son's residence in Goldsmith-street.
