Edith Margaret NICHOLSON

1Newspaper, LLoydminster Times Thur 14 Jun 1917.
"JUNE WEDDINGS
AT ALLISTER
On Wednesday, June 6th, two interesting events took place at the Allister schoolhouse, when Miss Margaret Nicholson, of Dina, became the wife of Mr. Robert A. Cameron, of McLaughlin; and at the same time Mrs. Lois E. Dobson was married to Mr. L. B. Nicholson, of Dina. Judging from the crowd which turned out to witness the ceremony, it was evident that July 1st had been anticipated by a month, as the school grounds wore quite a picnicy-air. Shortly after 4 p.m. the contracting parties marched up the aisle of the school to the strains of Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" The Rev. A. M. McLennan tied the nuptial knots. The brides were given away by their respective brothers, Mr. Roy Nicholson and Mr. George Silk; whilst Mr. Bert Cameron acted as best man for his brother, and Mr. Rov Nicholson also did likewise for his brother.
Miss Nicholson wore a very pretty dress of Copenhagen blue crepe de chene, with touches of gold embroidery; whilst Mrs. Dobson wore a taupe grey silk, braided crepe de chene. Both looked exceedingly sweet and becoming. The music for the occasion was rendered by Mr. Perkins Laughton, of Ridgeclough, who had very kindly loaned his organ for the event.
After the ceremony the happy couples adjourned to Mrs. Cameron's residence, where the wedding breakfast was served. Dancing followed, which was kept up till the early hours of the morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron will reside on their own place at McLaughlin; Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson will reside at Dina. The Times joins with the district, indeed with the whole of the Merton Municipality, in wishing the newly-wedded pairs the best things they could wish for them selves, for they are deserving. We predict much happiness to Mr. and Mrs. Cameron, for the old proverb is undoubtedly true, "a good son makes a good husband; whilst we have no doubt that Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson will also enjoy a full mead of happiness, as the bride carries the best augury for the same upon her face. We congratulat our old friend "Nie." Mr. Nicholson is the well-known Secretary-Tren- surer of the Merton Municipality."

2Newspaper Announcement, Edmonton Journal Tues 26 Jan 1954.
"CAMERON-On Jan. 25, Mrs. Margaret Edith Cameron of McLaughlin, Alberta passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. Thorsen of 8849 94 Street, at the age of 73 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert Cameron; two daughters, Mrs. T. Thorsen and Mrs. C. Kingham and one brother, L. B. Nicholson, all of Edmonton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Rupert Street Presbyterian Church (69 Avenue and 105A Street). Rev. Douglas L. Crocker will officiate and interment will take place in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. NO FLOWERS BY SPECIAL REQUEST."
