" The funeral of the late Mrs. Albert Arnold took place yesterday afternoon. The deceased young lady, who at the time of her death was only eighteen years of age, had been one of the leading members of Wesley Church Choir, and was held in very high estimation by a large circle of friends for her many gifts and bright amiable disposition. Her death took place on Sunday, after a brief illness, and yesterday a large congregation assembled in Wesley Church to pay their last tribute of respect to their friend. The coffin was covered with floral wreaths and a handsome cross, and was borne into the church, where the service was conducted by the Rev. A. J. Barclay. The choir, of whom there were very many present,
sang " Brief life is her own portion," and " Vital Spark of Heavenly Flame," and the Dead March in Saul was played by the
organist, Mr. W. Ernst Crome. During the service, the Rev. G. E. Rowe delivered a short address in which he bore testimony to her oharacter, to the, work she has done in the church and to the affectionate respect in which her memory was held by the choir and her other friends. At the conclusion of the service, the procession, which was a long one,
formed outside the church and wended its way to the Wesleyan Cemetery, where the remains of the deceased lady were buried.
The pallbearers were Messrs. W. J. V. Nankervis, J. Stewart, E. Barratt, and W. Grundy. The chief mourners were Mr. A. E. Arnold (husband), Mr. A. Lambert (father) Mr. H. Arnold (father-in law), and the brothers of the husband and his deceased wife."
