"SCOTT—MASON. An unusually interesting wedding was celebrated on Thursday evening at St. Peter’s Church, Cargill road, when Miss Alice Mason, youngest daughter of Mrs Mason, of Prince Albert road, Musselburgh, was married to Mr Walter Scott, of Wanganui. The bride and bridegroom were both educated at the Sumner School for the Deaf and Dumb. They entered the school at the age of seven, and continued there until they reached sixteen years. Romance entered early into their lives, and continued until the consummation on Thursday, when they were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by tlie Rev Canon Button. The bride, attired in a gown of white satin and georgette and wearing a heavily-embroidered veil, was escorted to the church by her brother-in-law (Mr W. Hargreaves). The two attendant bridesmaids were Miss Phyllis Mason, who wore a dainty frock of white georgette embroidered with pink roses, and Miss Elva Hargreaves, whose frock was of soft nil green satin. They wore wide-brimmed crinoline hats and carried beautiful shower bouquets. Two little flower girls, Audrey Hargreaves and Edna Austin, were also in attendance, looking very sweet in frocks of pale pink frilled georgette The bride’s mother looked very well, wearing a black satin and georgette frock and small black hat. About 100 guests adjourned to the Coronation Hall for the wedding supper and the dance which followed."
