"Driver Dies When Panel Truck Flips Off Canyon Turn
Douglas R. Drury 67 was fatally injured over the weekend on Malibu Canyon Road in Malibu when he lost control of his panel truck on sharp turn.
The California Highway patrol said Drury, a resident of Los Angeles, was southbound on the twisting road about two miles east of Pacific Coast Highway when he lost control of his vehicle which overturned several times.
He was taken to Santa Monlea Medical Center where he died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday."

"Private funeral services for Dr. Douglas R. Drury, 67, emeritus professor of physiology at the USC School of Medicine and a noted authority on hypertension, will be held today at 11 a.m. at Moeller, Murphy & Moeller chapel, 1200 Montana Ave., Santa Monica.
Dr. Drury died Saturday night when his car struck an embankment on Malibu Canyon Road.
He retired from USC in 1963 after 32 years on the faculty and an earlier association with the Rockefeller Institute where he conducted liver function studies.
He leaves his wife, Marjorie, of 3852 Olympaid Drive; two sons, Dr. Alan Drury and Bruce Drury of Los Angeles, and a daughter, Mrs. Rosalind Drury Radcliff of Arlington, Va. A brother, Kenneth, lives in Victoria, B.C."

Arbroath Town Council today appointed Mr Archibald D. Glendinning, at present senior assistant in the accounting section of the City Chamberlain's Department of Edinburgh Corporation, to the post of town chamberlain, collector of rates, and housing factor at a salary of £650 per annum.
Mr Glendinning was one of a short leet of four candidates interviewed by the Council. The other members of the leet were Messrs. William B. Morice, Rutherglen; Alexander McKillop, Glasgow; and Arthur A. Watt, Aberdeen.
Mr Glendinning has been in the service of Edinburgh Corporation since 1917 and has had extensive experience in the various sections of the city chamberlain's office.
He has been an associate of the Society of Incorporated Accountants and Auditors since 1927. He has been connected with the Edinburgh War Savings movement, and is at present treasurer of Broughton Place Church."

Her bridesmaids were her cousins, the Misses Elizabeth and Anne Muir, Glasgow, and Miss Joan Archer, Romford, Essex.

A son of the manse, Mr Parkinson was minister at East Church, Kirkwall for 10 years before moving to Chapel fo Garioch Church in 1971. He resigned his charge there two years later.
Mr Parkinson was an M.A. honours music graduate of Aberdeen University and B.D. graduate of Trinity College Glasgow University."
