MRS. E. P. CAVERS
The death of Mary W. Miller, wife of Mr. E. P. Cavers, of Gowancroft, occured on Wednesday morning last, January 12. Death was not unexpected as the deceased had been a long and patient sufferer gradually growing weaker till the end came. The deceased was a comparatively young woman having been born in 1864 at Appleton, Ont.,where she was brought up and spent her girlhood days and for several years taught in the public school. Her birthplace wás also the scene of her marriage to Mr. Cavers in March 1887. They began their married life in the old homestead of Mr. Cavers, Sen, at Beckwith, Lanark County, where their two eldest children were born. In 1890 they moved west and bought the farm, then owned by Wm. Robertson, where they have since continuously resided. Besides her husband the deceased left the following children to mourn her loss. Mary Beatrice and Thomas Alexander who were born at Appleton, Ont; John Duncan; Hugh Miller; Nettie Margaret; Christina Jean and Annie Edua, who were born at Gowancroft. The sympathy of all will go out to the above in their severe affliction. The funeral was conducted. by Rev. Jr.A. Caldwell and was held in the Presbyterian church on Friday Jan. 14, interment being made in Pilot Mound cemetery."2Gravestone.
