Peter Theodore BADGEROW

1Newspaper Obituary, The Pilot 23 Apr 1919.
"Peter Badgerow died very suddenly Sunday afternoon of heart failure induced by acute indigestion. He was up in the morning and ate dinner as usual. He was ill but a few hours. The funeral will be held at the Presbyterian church at 3 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. J.H. Williams officiating.

Peter Theodore Badgerow was born in Scarborough township, near Toronto, Canada, December 21, 1859, and so was over 59 years of age when he died last Sunday afternoon. He grew to manhood in that vicinity and there he was married to Janet Elizabeth Johnston, March 4, 1884. They lived at Zephyr, Ontario, on a farm until 18__ ? when they came to Nebraska, settling on a farm north of Blair in Cuming City township. The family consists of four daughters, viz. Mrs. Chester Smith of Colby, Wisconsin; Mrs. C.T. Gollehon, of Fremont, Nebraska; Mrs. Anson Johns, of Hemingford, Nebraska; and Miss Fay Badgerow, of Kansas City, Missouri. His wife died June 26, 1907.

On April 14, 1910 he married Miss Cora Martin, who survives him. There are also two adopted children, George, who is running the home farm north of town, and Margaret, aged six years. Three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Badgerow moved into town, making their home on West Washington street. Some years ago Mr. Badgerow served as county commissioner for one term and was re-elected. He was for many years a prominent member of the Presbyterian church of Blair and one of its most progressive men. He was of a quiet, retiring disposition, not a man of many words, yet one who was devoted to his family and beloved at home. Abroad he was widely esteemed as a public spirited citizen, a man of good judgment and incorruptible honor. His kindly face will be missed on our streets for many a day as his kindly presence will be still more missed by his family."

2Newspaper Obituary, The Blair Enterprise 25 Apr 1919.
"PETER T. BADGEROW

The report of the death of P.T. Badgerow, which occurred at his home last Sabbath was questioned and scarcely believable by his neighbors and intimate friends who had met him on the down-town streets, returning from the postoffice, in apparent customary health only a few minutes previously. The cause of death was diagnosed as acute indigestion.

Deceased was a native of Canada, born in 1859, and came to this county in 1890, locating on a farm on the bench north of Blair, in Cuming City township where he lived, engaged in farming until two or three years ago when he turned the management of the farm over to an adopted son, George, and moved to Blair where he has since lived a retired life. He was first married to Miss Janet Johnson, who died at the farm home in 1907. Four daughters were born to them, Mrs. Anson Johns, Mrs. Chester Smith, Mrs. C.T. Gollehon and Miss Faye Badgerow, all of whom survive. In 1910, he married Miss Cora Martin, who with an adopted son, George, managing the farm and an adopted daughter, Margaret, survive.

"Pete" Badgerow was a popular man, liked by all who knew him and had hosts of warm friends.

Funeral service was held at the Presbyterian church at three o'clock P.M. on Wednesday."
