"COBBOLD, George - Suddenly at his home on Friday, December 16, 1988; in his 74th year. George A. Cobbold of Paris and formerly of Orillia. Beloved husband of Jean Ross. Dear father of Stephen and his wife Joan. Dear grandfather of Sarah and Peter all of Mississauga and dear brother of Rose Quick Zaiger of Orillia. He will be sadly missed by friends and relatives. Mr. Cobbold was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29, Paris. A member of the Brantford Radio Amature Club (VE3MMW) and retired employee of Ontario Hydro. Private family service will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia. Interment St. Andrew's - St James' Cemetery, Orillia. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation gratefully appreciated."

"ROSS, David William (WWII Veteran, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders) - The death occurred suddenly at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 4th, of David William Ross, in his 79th year. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Margaret Joan Clayton, his only daughter, Dale, his friend and son-in-law John McDonald and his dear grand-daughter Chloe McDonald. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Mowat Ross and his brother Marr Ross. He is survived by his brother Grant (Gander) Ross, his sister-in-law Celine (Teri) Ross and his sister Jean (Ross) Cobbold of Paris, Ontario. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Orillia and England and a sister-in-law, Rhoda Clayton, of Bedfordshire, England. The funeral service will take place at the Orillia Presbyterian St. Andrew's Church, corner of Peter and Neywash Streets, Orillia, on Saturday morning, July 7th, at 10 o'clock and will be immediately preceded by a Royal Canadian Legion Service in the church at 9:45 a.m. The family will receive friends and relatives at a reception to be hosted in the church immediately following interment services at St. Andrew's - St. James' Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Building Campaign would be sincerely appreciated.

Robert Hetherington NORRIS

"ROBERT H. NORRIS
Robert H. Norris, 66, of 16 Burnhamthorpe Park Blvd., mathematics teacher in Toronto for 35 years, is being buried in Park Lawn Cemetery this afternoon. He died Monday night at High Park Curling Club.
Funeral service is at the Yorke Chapel of Turner and Porter at 3 p.m.
Mr. Norris was born in Belhaven near Sutton, educated in Markham, and was graduated from Queen's University in 1921. He served overseas in World War I.
Mr. Norris taught at Parkdale Collegiate until his retirement seven years ago. Since then he has taken an active interest in his Orillia district farm where he raised beef cattle.
He was a champion tennis player during his student days and an active curler. He was an elder at Islington United Church.
Mr. Norris leaves his wife, Jean; two daughters, Mrs. D.C. MacTavish of Waterloo and Mrs. C.B. Dixon of Toronto and five grandchildren.
His brother, John Taylor Norris who died two years ago, taught at Humberside Collegiate."

Blessed by his love, he will be forever with his children Ronald James of Burlington, Jon David (Michelle) of Whistler, BC and Jenifer Rae Crockett (Dan) of Kingston, Ontario and Grandad to Rhegan and Mardi of Whistler, BC. Beloved brother of Norma Thomas of Fresno, CA. Predeceased by his parents Earl and Jennie Williamson, sister Audrey and brother Bruce.
